#iam is an interactive social media art piece created to explore social media information and emotions from Twitter.
PHP was used to search Twitter for today’s tweets about specific emotions and capture their profile picture. jQuery was used to parse, animate and compose the data being presented. The profile pictures were given a slight hue depending on the mood they have tweeted. I hope to explore and inspire a unique perspective on what data is and how it may be translated into art.
Overview
The interactive piece is dynamically created from emotions that have been tweeted from people between specific times using Twitter. The piece explores dynamically created art using social media and how to display updated moods based information data as an art form. The result of the piece may be a change in attitude on the part of the audience that results from the medium of social media itself.
